Music has always been an expression of energy for Felly. Digging through samples and transforming them into something new. Entering a silent room with nothing but an idea and coming out with a song. It has always been a way for him to spend time in decades of music past, exercise his appreciation and understanding—and break the rules to add his fingerprint to the timeline.
Felly’s a gifted producer, always having his hand in the production of everything he makes and carefully orchestrating every detail of his projects. He’s worked with Jack Harlow, Monte Booker, Oliver Malcolm and Santana, among others. He toured with T-Pain on his acoustic tour. He built out a professional studio in his LA backyard known as The Lagoon, where artists from all over come through to create. He can do anything — and he plans to. “I’ve made more music than I can put out,” he says. And he’s working on new music, focusing on maturing his sound and thinking carefully about how his records will evolve in a live setting. Performing is where Felly’s essence comes alive.
He’s been able to amass an almost cult-like following in the process, an honor and responsibility Felly doesn’t take for granted. “I’ve only scratched the surface artistically” he says. “I’m just trying to find the synthesis of all that I love and make something great.” He’s going deeper than ever on his next project, hoping to surprise listeners and show them that music is a never ending journey—something always prime for discovery.
