Mark Nilan Jr. is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award winning songwriter, engineer and music producer who has worked with artists like Tate McRae, Jax, Jimin of BTS and Lady Gaga.
Mark achieved a breakthrough hit in 2017 as co-writer and co-producer of Lady Gaga’s platinum selling “The Cure”. The song was his first billboard Top 40 and US Radio Top 20.
He won a Grammy Award in 2018 for his work as co-album producer, co-songwriter and co-music producer for Spotify, iTunes & Billboard #1 Album, A Star Is Born.
In 2019 he co-produced the Grammy winning performance of Lady Gaga’s “Joanne, Where Are You Going”. The song features Lady Gaga on vocals and Mark on the piano. It won the Grammy in 2019 for Best Pop Solo Performance.
Nilan has since worked with many artists including Migos, B.o.B, Trey Songs, Kevin Gates, Anne-Marie, Rico Nasty, Tate McRae, Ashanti, Jax, Andy Grammer, Jessie Murph, Charlie Puth, Kodak Black, Jimin & more.
In 2022 Mark co-wrote and co-produced Jax’s breakout hit “Victoria’s Secret”. The song had major radio success and rose to #2 on Adult Top 40 Radio. In 2024, Mark was awarded the BMI Pop Award for Most Performed Song of the Year for 2023 for “Victoria’s Secret” and co-wrote and executive produced all 20 songs on Jax’s debut album, “Dear Joe”, which came out via Atlantic Records in June 2024.
Nilan has also contributed music to many major soundtracks including My Little Pony, Scoob, Honey Girls, Puss N’ Boots 2, and most recently Fast X. The song “Angel Pt. 1” from Fast X (by Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, Jimin, Jvke, Muni Long), on which he is co-writer and co-producer, went #1 on iTunes, top 10 on Global Spotify, top 40 on Billboard and US Radio.
